Foods For Health

Be very careful as to how you live, not as unwise but as wise.

Ephesians 5:15

6 teaspoons or 25 grams is the recommended daily dose of sugar.  How much are you eating?

Real change requires you to face the truth and the lies.  Changing eating habits begins with developing discernment.  If the label reads “healthy” but lists 20 ingredients, majority of them unpronounceable then the label is lying.  We must educate ourselves about what is truly healthy foods.  What is a healthy food?

Do not trust a label!  That is the first thing to remember always!  If the label says “healthy”, “all-natural”, “diet”, or “fat-free” it is most likely NOT!

Use your head and your heart to discern what is right to test what is authentically right

John 7:24

Eating REAL foods are the best change necessary for optimal health.  If the label has more than 5 ingredients then it is most likely not a healthy food.  Fresh fruits and vegetables are to be a priority of all healthy diets.  Great food choices also will lead to fish, seafood, sardines, nuts and nut butters, olives, avocados, coconut.  These foods can be canned if you prefer but fresh or fresh-frozen is a better option.  We all know that everything cannot be fresh so second best is canned!.

Another great health option to address with foods is your drinking habits. I am not going to speak on alcohol at this time, this is simply drinks that we drink on a regular schedule.  Herbal teas are great exchanges for caffeinated beverages.  I use herbal teas for many things such as sleep encouragement, bowel movement, and even energy for daily functions.  Green teas are great for a switch from iced teas.  Mint leaves, orange wedges, lemon juice and wedges, along with cucumber slices can add a great kick of flavor to a boring glass of ice water.  One cup of coffee a day is a great way to start your day but too much can cause blood pressure to rise and heart rate to increase, as well as increasing anxiety.  SO limit your coffee intake.

Happy Changes!
